Yamaha Motiv, 2 Passenger Cars Rival of Smart


Tokyo  - In addition to relying on R25 and Bolt Star Café , Yamaha has another champion at the Tokyo Motor Show . New product named Motiv , lightweight car , two passenger collaboration with Gordon Murray Design ( GMD ) , utilizing the concept of T25 and T27 . The target European consumers , will offer an electric version and fossil fuels .

Still in draft form and still took the time to ask for approval of the principal , to start production . Models are shown alone , it took 15 months . The initial idea has even coined since 2008 with GMD .

Than the Smart ForTwo , the display briefly looked like . The difference in the grille and headlight design , adopt Daytime Running Lights ( DRL ) that integrates with the main light . Visually , almost the same dimensions , Motiv shorter 2.5 inch ( 63.5 mm ) and a length of 2 inches ( 50.8 mm ) , but it weighs almost 100 kg lighter .

The exterior is made of non - load bearing , combined a special plastic that is claimed to withstand impact and damage better than steel or aluminum . Important points , easily removed and replaced at will.

" This car Yamaha , not us ( GMD ) . They depend ( Yamaha ) will produce it or not . But clearly , this cooperation was extraordinary , and we are very confident with the prospects in the future , " said Gordon Murray , the owner of GMD .
