Why Motorcycle Chains should be Lubricated? (Part II)
There are several factors that cause wear on the chain and the sprocket teeth . The position of the rear wheels are not aligned and bent chassis also causes the chain is not straight into the sprocket .
Other Fator is a lack of lubrication and maintenance of cleanliness in the chain , then the acceleration is too strong and excessive engine braking or driving long in muddy and sandy terrain .
Problems often encountered by the last in the enduro motorcycle enthusiasts and adventurers . Mud and sand are attached to the chain to be as powerful sandpaper to scrape the sprockets and rollers .
Strong acceleration and a sudden very bad for the chain , especially when doing it from a static condition . In contrast, if you drive with a relaxed , then the stress that occurs in the chain and sprockets can be minimized .
How do I know the character of your driving ?
If you use the bike as normal , then it can be seen from the front sprocket wear which has a more distinctive curved shape to the right . Conversely, if you often make excessive engine braking , then the curve in the opposite direction .
If the curvature is excessive , you should replace it immediately with a new one . Because if until the chain does not get into the right lane , the greater the risk of dropping out will be accompanied by other risks that we do not necessarily expect .
Acceleration and deceleration excessive unnecessary also have a devastating effect on the durability of the transmission and its supporting components .
