According to Executive Vice President Kia Motors , Michael Sprague , Kia Soul EV specification details will be announced at the auto show in the United States in early 2014 . Sprague believes Kia Soul would be the motor EV Kia brand change to a more "young " , which is fun , funky , and cool . " Kia will be transformed into an environmentally conscious brand , " he told MSN Autos .
Kia Soul EV planned to take the base model Kia Ray EV is circulating in South Korea . It is not yet known when this product will be marketed to other countries outside the United States and Korea . For Kia , the Soul became the first electric car EV . Previously , the Korean company to market hybrid Optima sedan , engine driven fuel oil and electric motors .
