Piaggio Launches Pickup in India

New Delhi - Motorcycle manufacturer, Piaggio, apparently also has a four-wheeled product. This is evidenced by the launch of commercial vehicles in the small pickup segment named Porter 700, in the Indian market, Wednesday (14/06/2017).
The launch of Porter 700 is done by Piaggio Vehicle Pvt Ltd (PVPL) as a subsidiary of Piaggio Group Italia. Quoted from Indianautsblog, this pickup entered the segment of cargo vehicles intended to transport luggage.

By design, Piaggio claims that Porter 700 was developed on the basis of input from Piaggio customers. Both in terms of design, style, technology, until the performance of the engine.

Piaggio Porter 700 is equipped with a single cylinder engine with a capacity of 652 cc. Collaborated with a five-speed manual transmission system, the machine is claimed to be able to produce power of 14.75 tk and 40 Nm of torque, with highest speed up to 63 kph.


Piaggio claims the Porter 700 is the only cargo vehicle equipped with twin headlamps. For carrying capacity, the Porter 700 can support up to 700 kg, with the highest ground clearance of 218 mm.
Porter 700 will be a rival of local Indian products that have been dominated by Tata Motors.
