Oxford - iconic British car manufacturer, MINI, officially confirm if the sports car of their first coupe-style, Superleggera, ready to enter the production line. Reportedly, the roadster will begin production within the next few months.
Although it has approached the production, which is a high-ranking BMW MINI's parent company still confused determine the design that will be the production version of the Superleggera.
"The parent company is still considering a production version of the Superleggera concept," said one director who oversees the BMW MINI and Rolls Royce, Peter Schwarzenbauer, as reported by Reuters on Thursday (11/09/2014).
BMW divulge if the dimensions Superleggera will present slimmer than the classic version of the MINI Cooper. At least, this evaluation process will take up to six months.
"This production is still unclear whether it will be produced by MINI at its production plant in Oxford or left to others (BMW), he said.
The Superleggera will be the model to eight owned MINI. In contrast, the BMW through Schwarzenbauer even want if MINI vehicles only have fewer models than that.
BMW, the parent company of the MINI equip Superleggera with the same engine as the Cooper S which belongs to the three-cylinder engine capacity of 2.0 liter with turbo. The machine is capable of producing output power at 220 Horse Power (HP).
Previously rumored if MINI Superleggera is also one of the MINI production line is quite special because it was built by hand made by Touring Superleggera body of a car. Currently MINI has five models such as Cooper, Cooper hatchback, the Cooper Convertible, Clubman and Countryman.
