New Delhi, KompasOtomotif - Although it bears the name Vitara, Suzuki Vitara Brezza is a different product. Vitara has been launched and manufactured in Esztergom, Hungary, since last year, while Vitara Brezza plan would debut in the Indian Auto Expo in April 2016.Suzuki Vitara reborn, but as a crossover, not a pure SUV.
Executive Director and Engineers Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) CV Raman said as reported by The Indian Express, Saturday (01/16/2016), Vitara Brezza is the first car to be designed, developed, validated, and tested, pure in India. Division research and development (R & D) projects Vitara Brezza MSIL code-named YBA starting from a sketch.
YBA project began rolling since 2011. It took three and a half years to finally become a real prototype. Raman reveal YBA development initially in the form of a challenge from Suzuki center.
"While R & D India berkeja closely with global teams for various models, in the case of Brezza all the decisions and judgments made by the team Maruti car and no validation assessment of Suzuki's global team," said Raman.
Suzuki is one of the largest car manufacturer in India with a production volume reached 1.5 million units per year or one unit per 12 seconds. Vitara Brezza so important for R & D team MSIL, the article number of employees increased from 300 a decade ago until now to 1,300 people.
"The consumer is changing and the market is becoming increasingly segmented. We should lead to every segment, "said Raman.
