Isuzu Prepare Toyota Innova aka Qualis Competitors

New Delhi - Isuzu again glanced segment multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), and is preparing a competitor of Toyota Innova. Manufacturers who have a typical diesel engine is appointed India as a production base of the new MPV.

Isuzu has announced an investment of 30 billion rupees in India, to build an assembly plant located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Currently, Isuzu MU-7 has a SUV and pickup truck D-Max, both of which are manufactured at Hindustan Motors Chennai assembly facility.

When plant in Sri City has been established, Isuzu Motors India (IMD) will move the two models, including the start assembling a new MPV. IMD President Takashi Kikuchi said it began using local content to 80 percent for the latest models later.

New MPV with code RU30 production will begin to be launched in 2016. In India, a multi-purpose vehicle will be confronted directly with Innova, and Isuzu targeting sales reached 40,000 units per year.

In addition to sold in the local market of India, the MPV will also be sent to other Asian countries, especially those also inhabited by Innova. Indonesia on the list, as the country with the largest MPV sales.
