Honda Working on Brio Crossover?
Autocar India explains, this model has the same platform with the Brio. Plotted below the crossover segment fills Vezel. Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing Officer of Asia and Oceania, explaining, production and procurement of components locally to Vezel still too expensive for India. Selling price is not competitive to compete with Duster, Terrano, and EcoSport.
Making new models with price "affordable" as it is not without its challenges. It is said, the Brio platform has not been developed to accommodate body types and abilities SUV.
"We still need to modify the platform to be able to load larger rim diameter such as SUVs, and this is not easy," said Matsumoto told Autocar last week.
The presence of a compact SUV with the affordable prices will bring benefits while strengthening the portfolio. Hopefully, crossover Brio comes before 2016.
