Honda Prepare Mini Cars
Japanese automobile manufacturer , Honda Motor Co. Ltd. , prepare a mini electric car for commuting short distances . The car that at first glance looks like the SmartCar ForTwo was released last Tuesday. Cars are usually called micro commuter , named MC - beta . The car is intended for the Japanese and European markets , especially the way the cities are more dense with more narrow parking space .
However , Honda says it will not release the car to the market . They are still discussing this car with the Ministry of Land , Infrastructure , Transport and Tourism of Japan . They will test the car in three areas , namely Kumamoto prefecture , Saitama City , and Miyakojima . Honda will explore the usage patterns of consumers want and need for micro-sized mobility products that will help urban planning and transportation in each region .
Compared to other micro commuter , Honda promises the cars will be measured 90 inches shorter . However , the car is still providing relief cabin for two adults . MC beta has dimensions of 2,495 x 1,280 x 1,545 mm . With a weight of less than 400 kilograms , MC beta can be driven up to 70 miles per hour . With the power source of lithium- ion battery , the vehicle can embrace distance of 80 kilometers once the contents of the battery . With 100V/200V AC power input model , it took three - to seven hours to charge the battery . Until now , there has been no official information about the price of MC beta .
