BMW Staking First Mercedes's Pickup
Quennsland - BMW apparently did not want to miss the Mercedes-Benz indicated was preparing a prime pickup. Australia's Media, Motoring, Thursday (07/21/2016), received information from BMW Australia Managing Director Marc Werner that pickup models for the company in consideration status.
"We are overseeing the room," Werner said when asked about the Mercedes-Benz pickup.
In May last known Mercedes is testing prototype-based Nissan NP300 Navara pickup. The model will be marketed in 2017 and the assembly is done at the Mercedes plant in Cordoba, Argentina.
"It's easier for Mercedes because they have commercial vehicles, trucks, and vans. We did not have. And it may be easy also for Audi. Just take (Volkswagen) Amarok, why not? "Said Werner.
Worldcarfans BMW did not want the production model of the pickup.When looked at Mercedes in collaboration with Nissan, the opening story BMW could use another brand pickup platform. For example Toyota is currently collaborating with BMW to produce a new sports model. Toyota Hilux could be the right choice.
Nevertheless actually BMW've never show a concept pickup-based SUV X3 in 2014. Previous've been there that makes rendering M3 into the pickup but only for joking mop April 2011.
"Yeah it more difficult for us but we will be watching how Mercedes," said Werner.
