Goodyear Tires Presents Tire from Silica : More Saving Fuel?

Demands in driving today more and more. Fuel efficiency and eco-friendly issues into the demands of the actors in the automotive world. Answering that need, Goodyear now presents the latest generation of tires made from silica which reportedly can save fuel. How come?
Based on the release into the editorial desk, tires with silica components of the latest generation, used in Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV and Goodyear Assurance FuelMAX. Goodyear mainstay ingredient is claimed to improve fuel efficiency through the use of tires.
 
At Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV, the latest generation of silica technology is used in a compound. While the new tread pattern, works to increase the resistance at the same rotation of the tire tread traction on wet roads.
"Our customers around the world want a tire that can help fuel efficiency, but without sacrificing features such as traction tires are strong," said David Zanzig, Director of Global Materials Science Goodyear.
In an effort to make more environmentally-friendly tires, tire and rubber company from the United States began to consider silica as one solution. Even last year, Goodyear reached an agreement to supply silica derived from rice husk combustion.
"Although there are no new sources of silica that can meet our needs as a whole, but alternative sources plays an important role in the effort to create an environmentally friendly tire," continued Zanzig.
