Air Conditioner Problem? Check Magnetic Clutch

There are many causes of air conditioner (AC) suddenly does not feel cold. It could be the cause comes from the magnetic clutch your vehicle.

Magnetic clutch itself is a component that connects the engine turns the air conditioning compressor. These devices are connected by the fan belt rotate to generate an electric current. The electric current will pull the center of the magnetic clutch attached to the air conditioning compressor.

According to Ferry Jensen from AC Rotary Plastica workshop, there are some symptoms of damage magnetic clutch, among others, AC is not cold even though the blower still alive, engine rpm rises when the air conditioner starts heating, until the sound of metal rubbing.

To make sure you can check these components to provide electrical current directly from the battery. If the magnetic clutch center uninterested when energized, can certainly be a problem.

Another way is to use a test pen. Check the current flowing toward the magnetic clutch when the air conditioner is on. If there is power, but the magnetic clutch does not work, it's good to consult your vehicle to a repair shop.
