Hyundai New Crossover Born in India
Chennai - Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has introduced a new model, a compact crossover named Creta, last weekend. The model that fills the class under Tucson will be produced locally in an industrial area and began the Chennai domestic market on 21 July.
In its official statement, HMIL Managing Director and CEO BS Seo said, Creta is a revolutionary product in the Hyundai portfolio. Despite produced in India, Creta status as a global model. Creta in India is almost identical to the Hyundai ix25 which has been marketed in China since last year.
Creta didasasari body structure design "beehive" (Hive) that offers powerful capabilities supported weight lightly, hexagonal radiator grille reflects one family member Hyundai and more modern look because the headlights integrated daytime running lights.
In India provided two turbocharged diesel engine options, namely the 1.4L and 1.6L, and a 1.6L petrol engine option. Consumers can choose a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic available on all types of machines. Creta has a system of front wheels.
Compact crossover segment is on the rise worldwide. Creta Hyundai will be a competitor Honda HR-V, Nissan Juke, the Ford EcoSport, and Mazda CX-3.
India finished the first country to market Creta, after the same model with a special European specifications will be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015. There is no information when Creta be sold in other markets.
