The use of carbon fiber chassis with already proven its superiority. However, the composite material is still confined to exotic cars, with a mainstream vehicle still wears chassis made of steel.
However, an American car manufacturer, Ford, working with automotive
supplier Magna International slowly using carbon fiber materials.
The plan, Magna will supply the subframe which will be the base engine in the products of Ford in the future.
As reported by Caradvice, the use of carbon fiber subframe produce
weight 34 percent lighter and 87 percent fewer pieces of components,
when compared with the subframe mold steel.
With lighter materials, automatic weight drastically reduced and fuel consumption will indirectly more economical.
Before
being taken to the production line, the Magna currently testing tingkan
corrosion, strength, and power benturnya so Ford still has not been
able to confirm its use.
