Latest Diesel Engines Claimed Safe from Cancer Risk

Mesin Diesel Terbaru Diklaim Aman dari Risiko Kanker
A nonprofit organization in the United States stated that based on the results of independent research by the Health Effects Institute (HEI), the latest diesel engines used in commercial vehicles and potentially cause lung cancer in humans.
HEI conduct research to determine whether the emissions produced by the engine is already in line with expectations. As a result, the exhaust gas technology in the latest diesel engine does not increase the risk of cancer, even for animals.

"The conclusion of this study should not be overstated," said Allen Schaeffer, Executive Director of the Diesel Technology Forum, in a statement.

He added that the latest diesel engine emissions close to zero, especially nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC), and particulate matter (PM).
So far examined diesel engine used by large trucks. Looking ahead, HEI will also test machine used passenger cars, tractors in agricultural areas, and the construction sector.

In the US, container trucks that use the latest diesel technology began to grow. The truck usually route intercity transport logistics. So far one third of the number of container trucks in the US are already using diesel engines in 2007, in which the content of NOx and PM emissions of its nearly zero.
