Lane Keeping Assist "(LKA), a System Which Help the Car Remained at Lane

Livonia - TRW last week announced it had successfully created and immediately produce the latest technology called " Lane Keeping Assist " ( LKA ) , a system which can help the driver of the car remained at lajurnya. Further, while the technology tested on two brands of cars that will be marketed in Europe .

The difference of this new technology from the old is a "closed - loop control " ( closed loop control ) that brings together data from sensor video camera ( as the eyes see the lines in front of the car ) steering denganpower driven by electric motors or electrically power steering ( EPS ) .

This system is used for correction ( counter ) steering torque to help the driver prevent car switching lanes suddenly .
At the moment that have been widely used , donated warn the driver not to move lane because there was another car behind that catch up quickly or called Lane Departure Warning ( LDA ) .

According to TRW , the LKA conventional system , the system is only activated when the car is approaching the boundary lines . That's when the torque is used to control the steering wheel , steering wheel helps drivers menggoreksi position .

In the latest version , closed loop , controlled wheel faster when the driver " steer " steering wheel , control the car back into the middle lane ( lane away from the boundary line ) . In the latest LKA , power to correct the direction of the car and can be directly generated EPS " override" or between systems controlled by the driver at any time .

" This technology was first incorporated with the EPS to keep the car is in the middle of lajurnya any time . This technology works semi - automatic , "explains Andy Whydell , Produck Planning , TRW Electronics .

TRW developing technology because based on reports from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , in 2011 , approximately 50 percent of fatal accidents on the road caused by cars out of lajurnya . Meanwhile , Insusrance Institute for Highway Safety ( IHS ) added , using the LKA could save 7,500 lives each year in the United States .
