Suzuki Patented Motorcycle Hybrid Technology

Tokyo - Not like Honda who developing a 2-stroke engines are more environmentally friendly, as reported Visordown Monday (21/07/2015), Suzuki is trying to patent technology of hybrid engines for motorcycles.

Described as shown in the patent drawings, there is an electric motor on top of the engine block (crankcase). This new power source works to help the conventional engine and this configuration change direction Suzuki sport bike.

Battery electric motors placed under the seat, analyzed from its small size predicted ability only for a short distance. Drive mode selector switch using only a conventional engine, just electric, or a combination of both, are near the rider's right hand.

It is attractive not only that, the new engine is depicted mounted on such a model GSX R1000 is equipped with semi-automatic transmission. The operation of the gearshift stick with the left foot as usual, but the replacement tooth is not mechanically but electronically governed by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

Electric motorbike is attracting attention in the automotive industry as it offers different things than the conventional model. Suzuki seems to have other views, possibly hybrid technology is considered the most appropriate for the type of sport. Not yet known when Suzuki will begin to change the patent into a production unit.
