Hyundai Set 2 Small Engines to Compete with EcoBoost

Paris - Hyundai took a chance at the Paris Motor Show in 2014 to show off the new engine. Two heart pacemaker fitted a small capacity turbo was on display. The machine is proof that Hyundai joined the successful trend of the world, the issue of low capacity engine, but capable of great exertion.

The first and most small engines are turbocharged 1.0L Kappa-New Gasoline Direct Injection (T-GDI), with a three-cylinder configuration and installed first on the Hyundai i20. This machine is capable of producing power 120 tk with maximum torque of 172 Nm.

Power production was similar to that popularized Ford EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta EcoBoost 1.0L 128 is capable of removing the power and torque of 169 Nm tk.

New Kappa 1.0L T-GDI turbo exhaust using electronic controls, six-hole injectors that spray gasoline with a pressure of 200 bar.

The concept of cooling the cylinder block is divided in two so that the heat can be quicker to reduce friction and efficiently. While the cylinder head temperature is kept low to optimize injection and combustion.

CNG
The second engine is a 1.4L T-GDI Kappa. Performed Debut at Paris Motor Show 2014 Hyundai i30 CNG Concept together. There is no detailed specification, Hyundai only released the power and torque respectively 117 and 206 Nm tk (running in CNG mode).

CNG i30 engine is also equipped with a dry-automatic transmission 7-speed DCT, first introduced in 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show under the Kia brand.
