Diesel Pollution Causes Cancer


LYON - A recent study of cancer research institutions ( the International Agency for Research on Cancer ) , which is based in Lyon , France , revealed that air pollution can cause lung cancer .

As reported by Inautonews , Wednesday ( 23/10/2013 ) , from the results of the study of air pollution from coal-burning power plants China , extensive farming operations California , diesel cars , trucks and also around the world .

" Most of the air for people to breathe is polluted with a complex mixture of cancer -causing substances , " said Kurt Straif IARC department chief .

Air pollution is even more at risk of causing lung cancer , compared with tobacco smoke . In 2010 , the Institute issued the data , as many as 220 thousand people worldwide die from air pollution .

Another study from IARC also follow up on the previous report , that air pollution can also lead to the risk of other cancers . Air pollution can cause not only lung cancer , but also can lead to bladder cancer .

" People can contribute to reducing air pollution is by doing things like not driving a big diesel cars , but this needs a broader policy by national and international authorities , " said Straif .
